Rules change
At its Fall meeting, held November 19, 2011, the H Class Executive Committee proposed and unanimously accepted a change to the 2008 H-Class rules which allows the use of VHF radios during races to facilitate communication between the committee boat and the racing fleet. The full text of the change is as follows: p. 2 under Safety Equipment and Gear change the second paragraph to read:
"It is permitted to use aids to navigation such as charts, compasses, and timepieces. No other aids are permitted while racing, including GPS devices. Use of VHF radio is permitted for use by the Race Committees."
